Time to catch up with my blog again. It has been quite a while since I last updated this.
They say that there's no certain typical Australian lifestyle, but I must say that my family and I are really enjoying a high quality of life, that I became too busy dealing with all our day-to-day activities.
Anyway, I just read an article yesterday afternoon that the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection has released the 2016-17 Skilled Occupation List (SOL). I just can remember how my wife and I are struggling to understand what is the difference between the Skilled Occupation List and the Consolidated Occupation List (CSOL) before, until we have consulted different Australia migration agencies in Singapore such as NTRUST - thanks to them as they have educated as so much about the entire migration process.
Going back to the updated SOL, it has come to my understanding that there are nine occupations that have been removed from the list and two were added. The nine occupations are the following:
- 233611 Mining Engineers
- 233612 Petroleum Engineers
- 234912 Metallurgist
- 251311 Environmental Health Officer
- 251312 Occupational Health and Safety Adviser
- 411211 Dental Hygienist
- 411212 Dental Prosthetist
- 411213 Dental Technician
- 411214 Dental Therapist
and the two that were added are:
- 251912 Orthotists and Prosthetists
- 252711 Audiologists
Checking the SOL is important if you are planning to go to Australia under skilled migration. You can just simply visit the Immigration Department website to check if your occupation is included in the list or not - a step that we forgot to do before because we are really confused that time on how we should start the entire process of Australian visa application.
I still believe that there are really reliable and registered Australia migration agencies in Singapore or from any part of the world that can help you out in processing your visa application. You just have to be diligent enough to identify which one can help you take your migration plans forward.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion , SOL can be applied via state sponsorship, typically the state does not bind you within the state itself to live and work, its open PR "unless OZ govt changes ruling" I had my PR from years 2012-2017. Tried and failed there. Came back to SG, disappointed. Hard to land permanent job. Worked contract roles in my profession and thats it. Bad job market in OZ due to oil/gas/mining down, employees are made redundant, so they move interstate to look for jobs i.e Perth to Melb etc.

Hi. I wouldn't be here in Australia if I didn't get the life I have been dreaming of for my family. Nothing worth having comes easy, as what we all say. Reality is it can really be tough during your 1st three months (settling period), but once you get hold of all the things, then it will be really worth while. :)

ReplyDeleteIf you are thinking of applying for an Australian visa, here are some tips to improve the chance of success of your visa application.
1) Good evidence
It is important you provide evidence to support your claims. Words alone aren’t enough, Information must be verified. Make sure you provide sufficient documents to support your claims or statements. Pay slip, letter of appointment of employment, photographs, third party statements are some examples of good evidence.
2) Consistency
The immigration Department will cross check all the information you submitted. Make sure all the details you provided are consistent with each other.
While most people are unaware of this: The immigration department will check through your public profile in social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and verify all educational, employment records with the institutions or companies you provided.
Make sure there is no discrepancy of information.
3) Accuracy
Make sure all the information you provided are accurate. If you are doing your own application, be sure to cross check everything to ensure accuracy. Any documents that require translate should be submitted with the original and translation.
4) Be honest
Honesty is very crucial when applying for an Australian visa. Be honest when providing information. It is also important that you disclose any prior convictions. Never think that if you disclose your prior convictions, your visa application will be rejected. On the contrary, if the immigration department found out you have not been honest about your past conviction, your visa application will most likely to be rejected. Providing a fraudulent document or statement will earn you a well-deserved denial from the immigration department.
5) Be organised
It is very important you organise your documents properly. If anything requires explanation, make sure to guide the case officer by creating a separate word document (Convert it to pdf format) explaining your case. Highlight what you need to explain and use numbering or appendix. All digital files should be uploaded and named with a description. Laying out your application coherently and logically will certainly make the application process faster and easier for the processor and applicant.
6) Use a Registered Migration Agent.
Be sure if you intend to use a migrant agent, he/she must be registered with the Office of Migration Agents Registration Authority. A Registered Migration Agent knows the immigration laws and procedures and can help you lodge a well prepared visa application.
